HOW TO DOWNLOAD AND INSTALL REAL PLAYER
This procedure will walk you through a step-by-step process on how to install software for RealPlayer on your hard drive. The procedure is customized to install the minimal configuration (i.e. fastest download) and shows you what choices to make so this new software does not interfere with programs you already have loaded on your computer.
Step 1 - Go to www.real.com and click on Download Real Player
Step 2 - Scroll down and click on Real Player 8 Basic
Step 3 - Fill out the form and click on the download button
Step 4 - Choose Real Player 8 Basic Minimum and click on the download button
Step 5 - Click on one of the west coast locations to begin the download
Step 6 - When you see this window choose save program to disk and then click on OK
Step 7 - In the Save As window, click on the down arrow to select desktop and then click on Save
Step 8 - The install program will now download to your desktop. This may take a good amount of time if you have a slow modem connection.
Step 9 - When the download is finished, close all windows and you should find this icon on your desktop
Step 10 - Double-click on the rp8-setup.exe icon to start the installation process and click on Next
Step 11 - Read the Agreement and click on Accept
Step 12 - Allow the program to install in the default directory and click on Next
Step 13 - Accept the default options or make changes by clicking on the check mark boxes and then click on Continue
Step 14 - Fill out the registration form and click on Next
Step 15 - Select and identify your connection speed by clicking on the down arrow and then click on Next
Step 16 - Uncheck make RealPlayer the default…. And click on Next
Step 17 - Leave all Channel boxes unchecked and click on Next
Step 18 - Uncheck all News boxes and click on Next
Step 19 - Uncheck all Flash boxes and click on Next
Step 20 - Uncheck all Internet Settings boxes and click on Next
Step 21 - Review your choices, and if you are satisfied, click on Finished. Otherwise, click on Back.
Step 22 - If the install completed successfully, the RealPlayer should now display the below screen and play a 20 second message
Step 23 - To finish the installation, close the RealPlayer window and drag the setup icon on your desktop to the recycle bin.
